Singer-songwriter Sam Stokes has dropped her latest mesmerising blend of unique storytelling and memorable melodies. ‘The Sun and The Moon’ begins by introducing us to gentle percussion and rhythmic acoustic guitar chords that set the scene for her blend of speech and singing. Gradually introducing us to layers of incredible, almost choral harmonies, Stokes quickly elevates the track to a new level. Explaining the song's message, she asks "Have you ever met someone and forgot the moment you became friends or lovers or both?". She continues, "You meet and realise you've been friends for years, if not lifetimes already...You might not know much in this world, but your love for one another is as constant as the sun and the moon."
